European Mobility Week in Bratislava

The European Mobility Week will take place from 16th to 22nd September 2013. There will be discussions, presentations of bike-sharing, car-sharing and car-pooling, a bicycle ride and other activities. The 12th year of the European Mobility Week (EMW) campaign will present an opportunity to reflect on issues on transportation in European capitals and also to find solutions for these issues. During this week, events promoting public transport utilization and reduction of the amount of cars on roads are organized by towns and cities. The Capital City of Slovakia Bratislava in cooperation with other partners has prepared a campaign and various activities.

Activities during EMW:

  • Free use of public transportation: from 16 to 22 Sep 2013, European driver’s license required
  • daytime connections only
  • Give a ride to your neighbor: campaign for the promotion of car-pooling.
  • Ride your bicycle to work: working days (16 – 22 Sep), competition for companies
  • Bratislava Design Week: international festival of contemporary design – discount on tickets for cyclists (17 – 22 Sep)
  • Bicycle ride: 22 Sep 2013, 6:00 PM, SNP Square
  • Discussions about mobility, parking, air and environment: SNP Square, 5:00 PM or 6:00 PM

Permanent measures:

  • Opening of the cycling route (and measures for pedestrians) Tematínska – Antolská
  • Launch of the new routing for the line X13 (through SNP Square)
  • Announcement of building of the assembly parking area in the Zlaté Piesky location
